About Preparedirect

Denis Korn founded PrepareDirect back in 1975. Soon after, he started AlpineAire in 1979 to better serve hikers, campers, and those interested in emergency preparedness. And in 1989, Denis began the Gourmet Reserves line of food storage. Denis has been busy and very active in the food storage world.

PrepareDirect is really a retail outlet for AlpineAire foods as well as a host of other ancillary emergency preparedness items including watches, solar power, filtration systems, and medical kits. We are mainly interested in the Gourmet Reserves brand of food storage, but it is really just AlpineAire foods repackaged in different configurations. We think highly of AlpineAire food, and you can read our review of that company here.

Our Opinion

In our opinion, if you are considering buying AlpineAire products we recommend you check with PrepareDirect first just to see if there are any savings opportunities. PrepareDirect has quite a nice assortment of various emergency products and has frequent sales and discounts.
