LDS General Conference Is Always A Good Time To Think About Food Storage

It’s that time of year again when Mormons convene for their semi-annual Worldwide General Conference. The religious group has been doing this since 1830. If you are interested, you can watch it on BYUTV, which comes standard with most cable subscriptions.

The reason why this is significant for emergency preparedness is because there is probably not a larger, single group of people in the world that is so obsessed with food storage. In fact, there is a reason the vast majority of food storage companies are located in the Mormon dominated state of Utah.

Mormons (their official name is Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but they are cool with the nickname Mormon) are taught to keep at least three months of food and emergency supplies as well as stay out of debt and live within their means. It’s good advice for anyone.

If you do watch the conference be on the lookout for a number of food storage advertisers who will try to pitch their products before and after the sessions. I don’t really care to mix commerce with religion, but it is what it is.

In honor of the Mormons, we are offering a General Conference Sale lasting from April 4th to April 8th. Get 10% off our already low everyday prices.
