Glenn Beck Has Been Pushing My Patriot Supply Food Storage
MyPatriotSupply.com is one of the fastest growing, and now biggest, emergency food storage suppliers in the world. The company got its start selling Heirloom Seeds, which gives customers a pretty compelling reason to buy: If the apocalypse happens then you are probably going to need to grow food rather than run to the nearest grocery store.
Heirloom Seeds
Heirloom Seeds are neatly packaged and sold as the Patriot Survival Seed Vault for $29.95. That’s not a bad margin considering we know the same types of seeds can be sourced for less than five dollars. The shelf life of the seeds is about five years and include squash, cantaloupe, beans, and tomatoes among other things.
With the seed business thriving, My Patriot Supply naturally moved into emergency food storage. We have found out that Augason Farms supplies My Patriot Supply with the food. We give mixed reviews to Augason, although we acknowledge Augason has made fantastic strides in recent years to modernize their operations. They even recently built their own manufacturing facility in the suburbs of Salt Lake.
Patriot Pantry
The bulk of the My Patriot Supply food comes in low-profile totes with packages ranging from two weeks to one year. The one-year package supplies 1,800 servings of food, which should technically support one adult for one year. We will do a more in-depth review later to see how many calories are actually in those servings.
Most of the food is what you would expect in a dehydrated food package: soups, macaroni, rice, and whey milk. There are no meat products.
The company claims a shelf life of 25 years, but that is simply not realistic. The real shelf life of the Patriot Pantry products is probably more in the 15-year range.
Glenn Beck is at it again
Our good friend Glenn Beck is pushing MyPatriotSupply.com on his radio show and on theblaze.com. Glenn used to endorse Food Insurance products (www.foodinsurance.com) thus showing that he too can be purchased for the right price. For the record, Food Insurance products are vastly superior to My Patriot Supply products. We know Glenn costs most than $1 million a year to endorse products, and we suspect My Patriot Supply is barely breaking even with the celebrity deal.
We have a few problems with the MyPatriotSupply.com approach. First, they don’t make it easy for you to know how many actual calories are in their meals. It’s tough to know exactly what you are getting unless you pour through each nutrition label. Second, I really don’t like the 25-year shelf life claim for products that are not freeze-dried and stored in nitrogen-flushed containers. Third, the whole marketing approach from My Patriot Supply smells rotten.
From the name of the company to the marketing copy, to the lack of putting a real headquarters address on the website, and finally to the me-too Glenn Beck advertising approach, I just can’t endorse this company in good faith. There are many other great suppliers of food storage that we review at Food Storage Reviewer, and I encourage you to find what’s best for your tastes.

I have bought the sample pack from mypatriotsupply.com. I thought the food was good and my kids like it. The servings come in packs that server 4. They do sell meat packs and the they do tell you that it will server one adult. The 1-Year Food Supply provides one adult with 1,800 servings. The price comparing I have done they are very competitive also all packs can be resealed if not all used.
Just my .02 censts

mypatriotsupply is not the biggest food seller by any means. I know of several companies and dealers that are far larger. I’m wondering where you obtained your information from? I find the company dishonest in everything that they do – advertising, calories, “patriotic fakery” and even the endorsement of Glen Beck, a schill if there ever was one. The food they sell is very low in calories and will not last even half the length of time they claim and it’s overpriced. So you need to buy at least twice or more as much at too high a price just to achieve the time periods they’re claiming. Have you looked at their “servings”? What a joke.

Jeff, thanks for your comment. A careful reading of the sentence will show that we are saying MyPatriotSupply is ONE of the fastest growing, and ONE OF the biggest companies. We never meant to imply that they are the biggest. Both statements are true. You can’t split the sentence in half and only take part of the meaning. And your right, there are other companies that are larger. Also, thank you for calling out the difference between calories and servings. That’s an important factor for consumers to pay attention to.

cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/indiana-fugitive-captured-in-calgary-1.865218 <the owner of my patriot supply. Not such a patriot. I would have to agree with Jeff C.

Whats wrong with Glen Beck? Can’t a guy make a living? You’ve never changed from a Chevy to a ford or from Haines to fruit of the loom? Give it a rest man.

My brother, who’s otherwise a seriously smart man, literally bought into the xx4Patriots scam, specifically the Frank (or Fred, it doesn’t matter) Bates video. I did 10 minutes of research on the company, which he should have done. It turns out that all the “Patriot” companies are owned by a guy named Baier and the company is registered in Panama, so it pays no US taxes. Or Panamanian taxes, for that matter.
These companies produce nothing; they just market it. They buy stuff from wherever they can find it cheap, certainly overseas, then mark it up and sell it.
I’m moved by their patriotism.
